Regardless of the source of income (pension, rent, salary or interest earnings), the one that has the highest earning in the household is the main income earner. Other household members' age status and their similar qualities should not be taken into account.
- The main income earner can be of either sex.
- In case two family members have the same income, the older one is accepted as the main income earner.
- Members living in the house but who are not from the same family or who do not have a kinship relationship have their own socio-economic status depending on their own occupation.
